Whispers of the Earth – A Love Letter on Earth Day
In the hush of a forest, the song of the wind brushing against leaves.
In the quiet persistence of a flower blooming through a crack in the pavement.
In the steady rhythm of waves kissing the shore.
In the stillness of a night under the stars.
Today, on Earth Day, let us listen.
Let us pause our scrolls and schedules. Let us look up from our screens and look down to where life begins—with soil, seed, and silence. We are not separate from nature; we are its most complex expression. Yet somewhere along the way, we began to believe we were its master, not its child.
We poured concrete over meadows.
We swapped birdcalls for ringtones.
We mined the mountains, silenced the rivers, and mistook convenience for progress.
But Earth is patient. And like any mother, she waits for her children to remember their roots. Not with guilt, but with grace. Not with shame, but with a shift.
Earth Day is not just a reminder of what we’re losing—it’s a celebration of what we still have.
A single tree still cleans the air.
A single bee still pollinates life.
A single act of love still matters.
Plant a seed. Pick up a piece of plastic. Walk barefoot on grass. Switch off. Slow down. Speak less. Breathe more. Every action, however small, sends ripples into the vast green web of life.
Let us not just protect the Earth as if it were a duty. Let us fall in love with it again. For we only protect what we love. And we only love what we take time to know.
Look at a butterfly.
Listen to the rain.
Watch the sky change color at dusk.
There is poetry in all of it.
This Earth Day, let us remember that healing the planet begins not with revolution, but reverence. Not with noise, but with noticing.
Because the Earth is still whispering.
And the most beautiful future begins when we finally listen.
I fell in love with Earth and it's abundance since childhood. It's been a beautiful journey with her. She has kept me grounded, nourished and steady in her affection. My sincere obeisance to her.
Happy Earth Day.
Let’s walk gently, breathe deeply, and live gratefully.
Amazing as always Ashu!
